The Great Divide
By joycekirkby
09 August 2006
A poem about two people who meet against all the odds.

It started as
 A chat and smile,
For the distance between
Was miles and miles.

The friendship soon
Grew stronger and stronger
The days between chats
Seemed longer and longer.

A yearning started
Deep inside,
To reach across
The great divide.

That special day,
I'll n'eer forget.
That blissful day,
Our eyes first met.

I knew right then,
At last I'd found
Someone to build
My world around.

Again a wonderful poem. Are you published? Because you seem like an old hat at this romantic poetry lark.
I loved it.
