FRIENDS

I went through a pretty tough time recently when my marriage almost broke up. This poem is the one I wrote for the friends who supported me through the last few months.

FRIENDS.....

Pick you up when life gets you down,
Make you laugh when you want to cry,
Hug you when it all gets too much,
Make you live when you want to die,
Give you space to rant and be sad,
Then help you learn again to fly.

Friends like these are rare and precious,
Hard to find and so very few.
Thank you from the depths of my heart
That you cared when I was so blue -
It is a wonderful feeling
To be blessed with friends like you.

Very sweet and simple. Can see this in a greeting card actually (and not in a cheap clinton cards kind of way) i do mean that as a compliment.
Lovely.
What a lovely poem

What a lovely poem, and how true. I've just lost one of my very best friends in life - my little Jack Russell, Gemma, who died at 18 yrs of age. I feel absolutely devestated, and anyone who has had a dog would understand. They seem to be joined to your soul. They read your mind without the necessity for words.
