An Adjective That Means Perfect
By listcally
22 August 2006
Late at night before a nap and very much close to falling asleep and falling to a splendid dream.

So spin, spin ever the faster
And wait to breathe when we’re done
This purity of moment
Splashed with colors so bright
And lace lacks its glamour without
The stitches

Have you heard music so ever so
Tantalizing
Without rhythm or lines
Just black dots scattered
Followed with a million repeats

That smile is too real
To be drawn up only for me
So I’m jealous, terribly indeed
That you smile so
I love to look at our old pictures

Shush a moment longer
So we can be still and listen
To the sounds that make up silence
Like the breathing you can’t hear
But resounds so heavy in my ear
Louder if you close your eyes.

Now you’ve ruined it
With that scandalous laugh
The trees are shocked by such behavior
Make up for it
Twirl around and court their leaves
Such debonair air

If it were up to me
I would speak no three word phrases
No simple finality
You and a verb and me
I would love love love love forever

This elixir of simple
Complex idealistic joy
Is outrageously sweet
Oh please try to remember this just
So I don’t seem crazy
When I burst in to smiles thinking back

How ironic
Such reality is wrapped around and around
By aimless wandering
Of the mind and heart as one
Perhaps not for always
But for sure right now this second of a lifetime

A living daydream here
Held by the palm of the shadows
Cast by the sun
So spin ever the faster
To blur everything but the fact that

We are perfect
