Just a happy moment. Not a common occurence for me lately - I savoured it. Oli I took a moment out today, To contemplate the season Of mellow fruitfulness. I sat on the sleeper wall, Warmed by the gentle sunshine, Amongst the bees and butterflies. Nature in all its perfection Embraced my soul. The afternoon was waning. Shadows of breezy flowers Tickled the pavement edge. The warmth intensified As the sun re-emerged From behind thin cloud. And the scene changed yet again Impossibly beautiful. High above my head Swallows twittered secrets. “Time to leave, summer’s gone We know a horn of plenty Beside the wide Zambezi Flamingo kissed waters Await our eager wings And we are happy”. A joyous, sated smile Took possession of my face. And my spirit soared With the skylark, Like Orpheus ascending to his heaven Wafted on wings of gold-leaf, To my personal Nirvana. And I was happy.
