Depression

This peom was written because it's what i am feeling right now at this very moment. As I write it here. As I put into words the pain in my heart. As I am dying on the inside. Wasting away. And in depth it's really very true. I wish this doesn't happen to any of you whom shall read this.

To me it's a river;
A horrifying river.
 Deep and disasterous;
Fast and monsterous.
 It happens quick;
It takes you under.
 You swallow the water;
Your lungs fills up.
 It starts to hurt;
Even breathing comes with pain.
 There is no air pocket;
There is no escape.
 It drags you down;
Throws you against things.
 It's weight is braking you;
As water crashes down on you.
 But it's not water;
Not water at all.
The debree of pain keeps you down;
You're drowning in the waters of sorrow.

Strong stuff, and I like the rhythm. Its fast and expresses your feeling of panic.
We've all been there at some point and all i can say is to snap out of it! I wish someone said it to me more.
Writing will help...or even talking to someone. Try not to think about it too much - you maybe need to change your routine or try something new!

All the best

I can't offer advice, only say I'm sorry.

Effective and clearly emotionally charged piece.

All the best,

Phil.

very good descriptions and the rhythm, like journeyatnight said, was nice, like you were really panicking.

I was moved by what you wrote and can relate to it, having suffered from depression on and off for most of my adult life. I am down there now! Take care - email me if you want

Cath :-)
