Love, Infatuation..
By Laura

Something I wrote when I was heartbroken. Mind you that was a long time ago. Still thought I'd throw it out there. I'll warn you, it is very teenage "emo" writing, if i do say so myself.

Pick away.
Ta

Love, infatuation, unable to define,

Choosing lust over love always seems the bottom line,

A decision always regretted

From the broken tears we are forced to cry

So many willing to break apart, testify.

Forever scarred deep into your heart,

Painted smile as your world falls apart,

Insomnia taking its toll, you try so hard to give up, just fall.

It seems all you see, his eyes piercing deep into your soul,

You chase him, but forget he is moving on,

Now your chase has turned into a crawl

Drowning in a river of your own.

Now that passion, that was once so deep

Turned into but a distant stare,

Watch as the blood begins to seep,

And your heart that was stolen, without any care

Dressed in disguise, to fool the world you dread,

Quiver and shaken, reminiscing of what was last said,

The very last kiss, as your lips fell apart,

You found the strength to run

Try to leave behind your broken heart.

A laura laura pain...

As Cilla would say.

I found the type hard for my old eyes. Talking of which, you have a nice set of peepers, if the avatar is of your eyes, which I suppose it must be. Pity its not in colour.

How could anyone be so cruel as to cause those eyes to cry?

Oh, the poem, yeh. Typical teenage love-angst stuff. Needs written then chucked. I usually wrote mine on andrex.

Oli.
Thanks I think.

Im sitting here wondering whether I should be flattered or ashamed. lol, I agree with your comment though.

Maybe it will help deter other once like me to learn a new style of writing instead of: girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, boy breaks girls heart, girl polutes the world with poems and stories of broken hearts and deception.

lol, but thanks for the comment (s)

I thought this was a very poetic piece and i enjoyed reading it. I shall definately come back and have another read of it. Only suggestion would be to not write in italics throughout the whole poem.

Well done Laura and welcome to the site!!

well, teen angsty. certainly. but it's much better than some of the other stuff i've seen. i once thought that heartbreak (relatively speaking) must cause dementia. not the case with laura, it seems.

it was a nice piece, just teen-angsty. :]
