TRUTH ABOUT LIFE!
By JohnnyD
21 September 2006
Life is indeed funny but then are we living the way we should? Why are we so greedy and jealous lot? Well, feel free to write to me...

TRUTH ABOUT LIFE

When you die
Everybody says you are the best who has ever lived
When you were living
They were the same who were ready to kill you

There’s plenty for each one of us
Yet we want to grab what others have
Little realizing there are others
Who would grab what you have already

The cycle never stops
Till death grabs you from life
The truth everyone knows while they live
Yet ignore before death embraces them from life

A good thought provoking piece of writing here. However, even though there's a great amount of truth in it, don't let your view of life crash and fall too quickly, there is still lots of good out there! Or at least I'm determined to think so. ;)

Keep them coming.

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. It is a well known fact that people don't speak well of you when you are alive but you become a saint when you die, ha ha. I'd rather have the good things said before I die, wouldn't you? As for your poem, the very irregular length of your lines irritated me a bit - but then you know my poetry is different (so don't take offence). I agree with the other things you said too.

The poem is an intellectual assault by the poet on life's never-ending dilemna. Ergo, I think, therefore I am.
