Autumn
By JourneyAtNight
21 September 2006
My contribution to this months lazy writers.

Call me weird, but autumn is my favourite season, I just think its beautiful. Even the rain doesn't bother me much!

E x

Stepping out to the crisp October,
A vast sky of clear, piercing blue.
Hazy mist clings to the horizon,
Sun rays tickle the bright frosty dew.

Leaves dance a reel round about me,
Twirling and flouncing my way
Dashing red kilts, gowns of elegant gold.
Sway along to my souls' melody.

Absorbing the beauty around me,
Breathing out a long pensive sigh.
Watching it drift up above me,
Weaving its way to the cold autumn sky.

A really lovely description

Everyone is painting pictures today and this is wonderful. Your poem is very good and descriptive. You bring in the feeling of the coolness of the weather (crisp morning), colour (the blue sky - and what a wonderful description of the colour of the leaves). I thought the personification of the leaves dancing a reel was wonderful. The last verse was lovely too. Well done.
thank you...

..for your lazy writers contribution. It is much appreciated and I hope you will participate in other lazy writers topics as this has been a worthwhile read!

I second Josies comments!
I think the flow of this poem was very natural and enjoyable to read. I especially liked the second stanza's concentration and detail of the leaves.

great writing
