What A Waste
By william
23 September 2006
What a waste wrapped in flesh
bone and skin. Greying.
All the effort, love and praise
Education through life's maze.

What a waste creating for a wormy grave
Behaving, competing. compromising
Trying, failing, a belief in succeeding,
What a waste.

i could have stayed on the beach
the wheelchair just lamely squeaks
as I put on the breaks in your shop
and announce my patheic arrival

I did try once but the back of my mind
littered and cluttered with half bitten dreams
told me: "Your already dead, why bother"

Cut the last two words and you have yourself a potentially fantastic poem.

its a little confusing at the moment, perhaps it's just me but i coudln't quite determine what's going on sometimes.

keep working on it
