I have attempted here to modernise and, perhaps improve upon,Wordsworth's great work: daffodils I wondered lonely as child around a gutted town The sand pit is now filled with flies and the playground long shut down Where is the gently swaying breeze? Replaced by fumes which make me weeze A daffodil my eyes spy out Is on a roundabout the other 'dils' were trodden into dog's mess under boot and covering one I rather fear is an old copy of loot
