A gruesome discovery
By Fledermaus

Markus Anderson makes a discovery on the manor's grounds...

The last member of the Anderson family to arrive was a large German sheperd with the rather un-imaginative name Hound. It had been in quarantine for some time, but finally it was re-united with the Andersons.
With its huge size and its pitch black fur it looked rather intimidating, but the animal was a real pet. It was especially fond of Markus and it was no surprise that the teenager loved to walk the dog. Both the boy and the beast enjoyed wandering through the fields and the forest.

Not long after lady Helen, Peter and mrs. Day were having their conversation, Markus and Hound were exploring the remote corners of the Village. As such, they came accross the Nascent manor. Markus didn't care much about the old estate, but rather unexpectedly, Hound jumped through the gap in the wall.
" Come back Hound!", Markus cried, but the beast wouldn't listen.

He sighed and climbed through the gap himself.
This was where this lady Helen lived, if Kirsten's notes were correct. She had noted that she walked around with a shotgun to chase interlopers off her land.
The dog ran through the overgrown garden and into the woodland which belonged to the estate. Markus looked around, searching for a crazy old lady with a rifle. The thought of a trigger happy noble-woman wasn't exactly very pleasing.
" Hound!", he shouted. The sooner they could leave the better.
The animal had disappeared behind the trees, but Markus could hear him sniffing and growling. Then he heard a familiar, scratching sound. Hound was digging for something.

As he got sight of the dog again, he saw that Hound was indeed digging. Markus took the leash from his pocket and fastened it around Hound's neck.
" Sorry boy", he said," but this is a dangerous place and you don't seem to listen. I don't want that weird lady to find out you are ruining her garden. Let's go home."
He glanced at the hole and his eyes opened wide.
" What the ..."
On the bottom, still half covered with earth, he could see what Hound had discovered... It was a skull.

What could this be? Is it an archeological find? Evidence of a crime? Or something else? Feel free to continue.

Good one. Just what I was hoping for. I hope the skeleton is of the late Lord Nascent. Of course you may have other ideas, but I could really use one of his bones for my purposes. Maybe you could let your dog collect one and then somehow I could get ahold of it.

I didn't have anything particular in mind.
At first I thought he could find some ancient artifact, so the estate would soon be flooded by archeologists, but while writing I thought a skeleton would offer more possibilities, especially because of all the rumours about Peter and lady Helen.

So, if no-one else objects, go ahead: It could be anything:
It could be lord Nascent, which would be handy for mrs. Jean's DNA-plot..
The Village is not too far from some neolithic sites, so it could be something old (At the Village pump).
There are some shady figures with French accents walking around (The plot thickens).
And there are some characters with strange intentions (More of the loveday affair).

So enough to chose from. I don't have anything particular in mind, so feel free to do with it whatever you like :-)

Brilliant addition!!

Okay letting my imagination run away with me now i would say it is unlikely to be Lord Nascent's remains as being a man of supposed nobility he is likely to have had a rather stately burial. Perhaps the remains could be of one of his teenage lovers who tragically killed herself after discovering that she too was pregnant by the Lord of the Manor? The circumstances surrounding Lord Nascents death are indeed shady- drugs were mentioned- perhaps after having to get rid of the evidence Lord Nascents guilty conscious caught up with himand he topped himself!!

To link this with your find Markus could reveal all to his law abiding father who is an intelliengent and powerful man, His father then forces an inquest which in turn forces Sargent Bagheera [who already has knowledge of this] to reveal all the details of what happened to Lord Nascent and his lover all those years ago???This in turn will help Jeans plot line?

Just an off the top of the head thought there mind! It would be nice to brainstorm together and come up with a suitable plotline.

Brook :)
