Fidget the midget (part two)
By umbugjug

This seemed to go down quite well. so here's some more.

Fidget the midget

           just couldn't sit still

He was wriggling Tuesday

            And he's wriggling still

He sat on a daisy

            But wriggled right off.

He wriggled out of the garden

            At Old Uncle Moth's

Doctor McWicky

            - A fly of renown

Was called to come quickly

From the far side of town

"Oh dear" he exploded

            with a splutter and spit

"I really don't like this.

            "Oh no, not a bit."

I loved this poem more than thr other Fidget the Midget one I think, perhaps because it has the beginnings of a plot to it? The other was more of an introduction to the character. This could easily spawn a series of them I am sure :)

If you do come up with some more, perhaps you could expand on the titles? I.e. fidget the midget - fidget and the daisy?

I think perhaps in thr first poem you could benefit from making it clearer, just exactly how small Fidget is. In this poem he sits on a daisy and is aided by a fly doctor! On the first reading of both poems I imagined a (very) small boy!

Rythmn-wise this poem flows much more smoothly than the other - is it because it is your second go? I think it could easily be continued - the ending feels too abrupt, like there should be another page. I definatey wanted to read more!

I love the 'daisy' stanza :grin a lovely image; but the last line doesn't feel great. I'm not sure I can suggest a substitute though, sorry!

The intro stanza works well as a constant in both poems. Would that work with a final stanza as well?

Hope this has helped a little - and do keep working on this, it is definately worth the effort.
