Ode to Swanelly

i was sitting on my bed yesterday. no water. no electricity. no water. you know how ironic it is that because of water -- a storm -- we have no water. honestly. i was too bored! i didn't have internet! (duh, no electricity) but.. haii.. i mean.. we had a storm for like eight hours last wednesday and my brother got hit on the head with some Pomelos that were falling off the tree. and then the next two days, no water. no electricity. so my sister and i wasted our time eating, eating, singing some songs (out of tune by the way) with a guitar, and writing.

For two days straight,

I read and I ate,

for most of the time in my house.

For hours we got wet,

even my soggy bed,

the one who escaped was a mouse.

I can't understand,

I just was so bland,

a typhoon had hit our city.

I felt so lonely

I just turned silly

no water, no electricity.

How dangerous it was,

not hearing the buzz

of my very familiar cel phone.

I just had to wait

until all was too late

for cel phone signals to go on.

Amidst water's wrath,

I can't take a bath,

I just felt so itchy.

Eating nothing but sweets,

missing the missing beeps,

of my celphone I named Swanelly.

It must have been a dreadful experience, and so very frightening. You have done so well writing about this in this way. Excellent.
thanks.
