Our Lives Go On

This is the beginning to a sequal i'm writing. okie it's the beginning of the third book in the sequal.

I opened my eyes to a lovely sight. Okay it wasn't that lovely actually. It was awful. Blood stained the walls. The cold stone walls. Chains scoured the walls, floor, and cieling. There were bone scattered over the floor. I didn't know where I was but I knew one thing. I wasn't dead anymore. Last time I checked I was a pile of ashes under the nice hot sun in the middle of the Sahara Desert. My last glimpse of the sun. My first glimpse of the sun in hundreds of years. But obviously I didn't stay dead.

I tried lift away from the wall but it didn't work, just like my failed attempt at suicide. Now that I thought about it I could feel the chains cutting into my wrists. I could feel the blood slowly begin to drip down my arms and to my armpits. I could feel the warmth of it as it slowly glided down my arms. I slowly closed and opened my eyes. Against this cold wall I would probably remain until someone noticed that I didn't belong here.

Then the person I would never expect to walk in let alone be alive still walked into the chamber. My mouth dropped open in surprise. My eyes wide with not only disbelief but also relief.

It was Nickolas. Last time I checked I had killed Nickolas. He was supposed to remain dead. He had changed slightly from the last time I saw him. Of course he didn't have blood running down his neck and chest or pouring off his wrists. And he didn't have wooden pikes sticking out him either.

He walked toward me and said," You look surprised to see me, my darling."

I couldn't speak at the moment. I couldn't move or think either. I was in perpetual shock at the fact that he was still alive. Of course I was also in shock over the fact that I was alive, too.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" he whispered standing right infront of me.

I only nodded and gulped. Nickolas wasn't the most forgiving person, plus I had just about nailed him to a wall. Not with nails though. He looked me in the eyes and smiled.

"Well speak if you can," he said.

"Nickolas?" I gasped the questioning statement, hoping I might be wrong but also hoping I wasn't.

"Yes it's me. Tisk tisk William, look what you've done to her...... she's bleeding," Nickolas said.

I closed my eyes hoping this was just a predeath nightmare. I opened my eyes and he was still there. He stole a key from his pocket. Unlocking my chains he backed away a bit. I tried to take a step but I almost fell as soon as my foot touched the ground. He grabbed me around the waist.

"Look at you, you're barely able to walk," he said softly in my ear.

And I blacked out.

I think you've posted in the wrong forum. Should this be in extended?

I've not had the benefit of reading whatever comes before this, but I have to confess, it's not as clear as it could be, despite several repetitions within the text. I'm intrigued by the situation but feel you ought to consider more carefully what you want your reader to 'see' and imagine.

Might just be me, and in the context of a longer piece what I've just said may not be relevant.

Phil.
