Soggy Tomato Sandwhiches
By ellie-jelly

I've always loved soggy tomato sandwhiches, the soggier the better. I thought that maybe it was time I put it in poem form - because apparently writing an essay about it is quite strange.... :)

There is one thing I love to eat,
 It's makes my tummy smile.
I think this food is really neat,
 Though others think it's vile.

 "Soggy tomato sandwhiches!" I cry,
 I eat them everyday.
The other kids just sit and sigh,
And here's some words they say:

"Why do you eat them, they look so yuck?"
"It looks like it's been run over by a truck"
 "Eeeewww soggy, it'll fall apart!"
"Don't eat that, here take my tart."

I don't know why there's so much fuss,
 About my soggy treat.
So I sit with them and discuss,
Why this is the food to eat.

The bread soaks in the flavour,
That's what I love the best.
So I take my time to sit and savour
 It's awesome yummyness.

For lunch, for breakfast even for dinner
It would make the perfect meal.
Because soggy tomato sandwhiches are always a winner,
They're so yummy they make me squeel.

Tonnes of tomato in two pieces of bread,
 That is the recipe.
It's not very hard, from what you've just read,
Mmmm this is making me very hungry!

Still they tell me it's strange,
 And that it's really gross.
My thought on this will never change
As it is the food I love the most!

I like a tomato sandwich now and then - with the bread toasted, sprinkle of pepper and salt and mayonnaise - easy, strangely entertaining read - a jolt of rhyme and reminiscence about one thing we all have in common - food.

Thanks for the read.
