Aussie Haiku

My day on the Sunshine Coast

New sun lights ocean
Creek side Kookaburra laughs
Wish I knew the joke

Pandanus whisper
Banksias sigh in noon time heat
Waves nibble shore

Black cockatoo screams
Afternoon becomes evening
Heralds the dreamtime

I must be just getting into Haiku. I don't know much about it, but this website is opening it up. If it is short sharp picture snaps in words, then it is really lovely, and your haiku is also. Well done.
