I found this in a folder on my computer at work. Forgot I had written it, about five years ago. I'm not really sure if I'm that keen myself.

CUT IN:

Close up, full screen, it is an electric blue colour,  appears to be white noise. We can see shadows moving behind the interference. There is a humming noise.

ZOOM OUT AND PAN RIGHT.

We are close to the ground, the floor is shiny and black. A metal wheel comes into view.

ZOOM OUT

To reveal small robot with a protruding pincer and a basket on its back. It has eight wheels along the side we can see and a row of lights along the front edge of the basket.

One of the lights flashes. The robot spins and sets off along the floor. We follow it at floor level.

On either side of us are similar blue screens. They appear to be slightly curved, and they appear and disappear as we move along, like American city blocks.

We stop.

PAN RIGHT.

There is a pile of fur on the floor, it might be a dog, but it could be any animal. It appears to be dead. There is no blood..

PAUSE.

THEN ZOOM IN PAST MONKEY TO BLUE INTERFERENCE.

RUN TITLES OVER BLUE SCREEN.

PAN UP AND FADE TO BLUE CLOUDLESS SKY AS TITLE RUN. THE HUMMING INCREASES IN VOLUME.

CUT TO:

EXT. A BEACH HUT

It is silent except for the lapping of the waves and the odd bird call.

The door of the beach hut opens and a man exits and stretches. He is not tanned and is wearing only khaki green shorts.

MAN
(to no-one in particular, blowing out a breath)
          Nice day for it anyway.

He walks down to the sea, crouches and scoops water up to his face to wake himself up. He looks around, curious about his surroundings.

CUT TO MAN POV

PAN SLOWLY.

We are on a perfect, but deserted beach. The sun is rising or setting beyond the far edge of the bay. The bay itself is surrounded by tropical looking trees, rising steeply about a hundred yards from the shore.

          MAN (off screen)
Well, you've seen some strange shit, but where the hell've you landed yourself now?

Suddenly, there is a squawk and the sound of trees being trampled.

PAN RIGHT RAPIDLY, MAN POV.

Nothing appears in the trees.

PAN LEFT RAPIDLY, MAN POV.

Again nothing.

CUT TO MAN.

He turns, trots back to the beach hut, looks inside briefly then goes around the back. He is looking for something, but does not know whether it will be there or not. Clearly he has not been here before.

He emerges from the other side of the hut with a crude bow, and a couple of arrows. He is looking at it, tensing the drawstring, as if he knows how it works. But he has clearly not used one before.

Satisfied, he begins to walk along the beach to where the noise came from.

Suddenly a pig-like creature emerges from the trees. It looks confused and stands stock still. Man goes down on one knee, tilts the bow horizontally, pulls the bow string. He fits the arrow and starts to move towards the pig.

He is in range, and just as the pig starts to bolt, he fires the arrow. The arrow hits just in front of its shoulder, it falls to the ground squealing. He dives on the pig and punches it in the face, takes the other arrow, stabs it through the chest. Blood squirts up.

He is panting, face bloodied. His expression is difficult to decipher. He is pleased, but he is also very confused.

FADE TO:

Close up on hot embers

ZOOM OUT:

Night, a bright, full moon in a clear sky. Man sat by a fire on the beach, a pig roasting over the flames with a stick right through it. He leans over a prods the embers, picks one end of the stick and turns the pig over. He sniffs. His nose is sunburnt.

          MAN
          (nodding his head)
          Hm, hmmm, hmmmmm!

A monkey comes bouncing over to him

          MAN
Ah, Milgram, my little buddy, I wondered where you'd got to. Want some pig?
No? No, I should think not as well.

He sits down, and the monkey comes and sits.

          MAN (continuing)
What, do you suppose, is going on here? I wake up in that hut,
not a clue why, catch a wild pig, have a swim, eat some fruit,
have a sleep, light a fire and cook the pig. Am I missing something here?
          It's paradise.

Monkey, chattering.

CUT TO NIGHT SKY AND BACK TO BEACH

MAN (eating a piece of charred meat)
I have got to tell you though, if this is paradise, there's
got to be a woman. A dark-haired island beauty, ready
to lay herself down for me. That'd just about do it I think.
          What do you say?

Monkey says nothing, then looks to one side.

ZOOM OUT:

Man is looking in the same direction as the monkey.

          MAN
Ha! Now, why am I distinctly unsurprised by this?

PAN LEFT TO:

Dark haired island beauty walking along beach. She has on just a piece of material, wrapped around her top and bottom, but with a gap showing shapely, deeply tanned legs. Her bare feet leave light patches in the wet sand.

          MAN (to monkey)
You know what Milgram. I think I'll go along with it. What can I lose?
Sadly, buddy, it's bye-bye time for you.

In one movement he picks up the monkey and throws it into the trees.

          MAN (to girl)
Are you supposed to come with me?

Girl nods, sweetly and demurely, and holds out her hand. Man takes it, smiling.

FADE OUT
EXT. BEACH HUT

It is morning again, the door opens and man comes out. He stretches and walks to the sea. Again he reaches into the water and scoops a handful to refresh his face.

A noise, like rustling leaves.

CLOSE UP:

Man looks across to where the sound came from, quizzical look on his face. He runs to the beach hut, straight round the back round and emerges with the bow and arrow. He goes down on one knee again, fires and we hear the squeal. Man shakes his head. His nose is sunburnt.

FADE TO:

EXT. NIGHT, BEACH.

Man is sat next to a fire with a pig roasting. He is eating meat, the monkey is sat at his feet.

          MAN (to monkey)
So, Milgram. Where is my little senorita? If I've got this right,
she should be here by now. Ah-ha. Right on cue.

Girl is walking along beach.

FADE OUT:

EXT. CLOSE UP, BEACH HUT DOOR

It opens, man looks out. His face is slightly tanned. He is smiling. On his left arm we see a series of five bar gates scored. There seems to be about forty or so.

FADE OUT:

EXT. CLOSE UP, BEACH HUT DOOR

It opens, man looks out with reasonably tanned face. He is smiling. His arm seems to have a lot more 'gates' than last time.

EXT. CLOSE UP, BEACH HUT DOOR

It opens, man looks out. His face is deeply tanned, and has a resigned look. He leans on the door frame and we see his arm is covered in little scores, hundreds and hundreds of them. They reach from his wrist to half way up his upper arm.

He walks straight round the back of the hut, pick up just the arrow and throws it high into the air. It disappears about thirty feet into the air.

CLOSE UP OF MAN'S FACE

He is just looking up.

We hear a squeal.

CUT TO CLOSE UP OF PIG

An arrow is sticking out of its front shoulder.

FADE TO.

Man under water. Bubbles are coming from his nose, his eyes are wide. He panics.

He is swimming to the surface, frantically.

CUT TO HIS FACE.

The life falls away from him, but before he dies, a smile appears on his face. We see him sink slowly.

FADE SLOWLY TO BLACK.

CUT TO INT. BEACH HUT

CLOSE UP ON MAN'S FACE, HIS EYELID

It opens.

MAN (Crying out as if in pain)
          Nooooooo.

EXT. BEACH, DUSK.

The man has a long rope, it seems to be made of natural materials. He is attaching it to the legs of the monkey.

          MAN (to monkey)
Right you little bastard. Let's find out  what in the fuck is going on.

Man walks away until the rope is taut. He starts to swing the rope in a vertical circle, the monkey on the end of it. He lets the rope out gradually, then he lets go on the upward swing. The monkey disappears, but most of the rope falls back down to him. The end is charred and smoking. The man looks at it and smiles.

EXT NIGHT, BEACH

Man is sat with the monkey at your feet. His arms are completely covered in small notches, most of his chest too.

           MAN (to monkey)
Just speak to me. Senorita Miss Bitch won't. All we do is fuck.
Then she's gone. And you, and all you do is just fucking screech
when I send you through the roof. Ah, here she is. Just piss off,
go on, fucking off away from me. It's not my paradise. I don't want
           it any more. No more.

The girl smiles demurely, and holds out her hand. Man looks at her as if to say, what are you doing? Then he stands up and takes her hand.

FADE OUT

EXT. THE END OF THE HEADLAND, DUSK

The man is standing with the monkey on the rope again.
The whole of his body is covered with notches, the bits where skin is left are a deep brown colour.

He swings the monkey, horizontally. When it is circling just a few feet, it starts to flash blue at the same point in the circle. As it swings round we can see bits of it are missing, but strangely there is no blood. He lets go of the monkey and the rope. Both disappear.

CLOSE UP OF HIS FACE

He is steeling himself for something.

ZOOM OUT TO SHOW HIM FULL LENGTH

He reaches out and the tips of his fingers slowly disappear, a electric blue penumbra forming in the air. His face is contorted in pain. He pulls them back, the tips have disappeared. The wounds are cauterised.

He reaches out again. This time his hands go deeper, up to his forearms. He is in agony, but he keeps them there. He is actually smiling.

His legs tense, as if to jump, But he slips, stumbles forward. A blinding flash of blue and a scream.

The screen goes electric, interference blue.

PAN TO:

Robot, moving quickly along shiny black floor. We are following it, round corner after corner. Rounding one corner, we see the floor is slick with the blood, made purple by the blue light. The robot skids. As it does, we glimpse two arms, severed just above below the elbows, covered in tiny wounds. The robot crashes into the blue screen and we go with it. The screen turns blue interference.

PAN UP, GRADUALLY, HUMMING INCREASES IN VOLUME.
THE SCREEN TURNS TO SKY BLUE.

HUMMING IS VERY LOUD.

PAN DOWN TO:

EXT. BEACH, LOOKING OUT TO SEA.

Silence.

A smashed robot lies in the sand. The man is standing next to it, his arms aloft in victory, looking up to the sky. His hands are missing. He is clearly malnourished. To his right we see dozens of pigs, all standing as if waiting for something to happen.

CUT TO AERIAL VIEW OF MAN'S SMILING FACE, LOOKING UP.

ZOOM OUT, UPWARDS.

As we zoom out, we get a blue flash. We are over an electric blue dome. As we pan further, we can see other domes, and as we get further, we can see the domes stretching into the horizon and beyond.
