Defeat

for a change, this was written during filipino class. :) many thanks to LuiNahtzi for reading this through during ssp

Lead pulling at my heart,

No chance of such redemption.

No smile, no fresh start,

No joy, hope, just desperation.

A happiness you slew

would it ever return?

My very soul pierced through,

by your words, your heart of stone.

One fatal mistake and I was deserted

A lonely babe in a field

The very core of my all destroyed

by a deadly dagger pierced.

My mourning won't finish,

Forever more undone.

These rivers of tears

soul and sorrow one.

Your best to date I think.

Third verse: me/my?

Much more complete than other poems you have posted. Well done.

All the best,

Phil.
I agree....

Very well written I think - it has a more powerful impact on the reader, and has a good rhythm going.

Nice one

Very good.

I think it is "my" and that this is the best line of the piece. The very core of your "all" - the sum of your being, the fact that my mind stumbled on this poetic tripwire made me think for a second about it - RilLie mission accomplished!

rilLie's poems becoming accomplished too!

Oli
thanks.
