| The Bi-polar Bear | |

I am the bi-polar bear, Ursus bi-polaris, if you care. I scavenge by nature, A pitiful creature, Neither up nor down, Here nor there. My fur it is usually black, With a big yellow streak down the back, When it goes briefly white, I go out for the night, But I suffer from, Nervous attacks. When white, I can dance for my tea, But I know that its not really me. I soon start to blacken, Then hide in the bracken, I see no-one, No-one sees me. I eat special berries for food, They told me would make me feel good, If they do for a while, I can manage a smile, But its only a chemical, Mood. Pity not this miserable bear, And fear not, he’s exceedingly rare, If you manage to trace him, Just run and embrace him, And lighten his silky, Black hair. Oli (18/10/06)
