Summer Haikus
By patterjack
19 October 2006
Please refer back to Autumn and Spring Haikus, as these follow the same pattern laid out there . I did warn you ! Winter is to come--and maybe a few spares as well.

SUMMER

a.

A brassy shimmer,
burnt earth quivers at the blows.
Summer beats its gong.

b.

Whirlwind and thunder
incarnate in sweating flesh,
galloping horses.

c.

Gold , silver crystal
bell notes resonantly throng
all Sunday morning.

d.

Shining silver fans
wafting heat from noonday parks,
fountains softly play.

e.

Sunlight on your hair
blends , in a blaze of beauty,
honey , amber , gold.

But I can't quite relate some of these to a Scottish Summer.

Anyway, high coos here are cattle who've eaten magic mushrooms!

All shows a clear and specific image of some kind. You've captured a moment, time or event beautifully.

Really liked c and e.

All the best,

Phil.

(Like Oli, here in Bolton summer lasts about two days. Lots of sweat, a thunder storm and then autumn.)
