Eat Me

it's a love poem..simple as

Some people
are attracted by
the mystery of a maze
leading to the Pharaoh’s tomb;
others are amazed
by labyrinths in caves,
blazing their fire
through the gloom.

Conundrums and challenges
(the way to a man’s heart)
never did
interest me much,
I’d
never start off
on any great expedition:
I’m too lazy,
you see, it’s far
too much bother for me.
                              Now.

Which is why I
like you so very much:

you offered your heart
without hurdles,
no Herculean tasks, no
bloody great big boulders,
no convoluted silences –

just your heart

almost as it was the real thing

wobbling

on a plate before me

ready to consume.

Engaging and then macarbre.

Nice words, I even liked the formatting. A good 7.5/10 for me.
