Madonna to adopt new mother
By woody44
20 October 2006
I`ve put this one and a couple of others on Newsbiscuit...

It has just been announced that Madonna has adopted a new mother. The couple, under a heavy police guard, flew into Heathrow this morning from the Philippines.
`I`m over the moon,` Madonna told our reporter. `Filipino women make such good mothers, and I`m sure Corazon will be happy in her new home. Corazon, who was covered with a large blanket as she was whisked through passport control, will join Madonna`s other mother at the singer`s sumptious London address. `My family is quite complete now,`she cooed. `It can be rather lonely being an only mother so I am delighted to have been able to bring Corazon to England.`
Mystery still surrounds how Madonna was allowed to bring Corazon out of the Philippines as there is a strict law which says all Filipino mothers must, wherever humanly possible, stay in their own village. It is believed however that Madonna has made a substantial donation to a much-needed Home for Fallen Women in the capital, Manila.
Meanwhile protesters in both the Philippines and England have criticized the Philippine government for caving in to Madonna`s celebrity status. `It is a case of money talking again`, a spokesperson said. `There are hundreds of ordinary people out there looking to adopt a new mother who haven`t got Madonna`s millions.` A reply is still awaited from the Philippine authorities...

I thought Madonna's latest headline grabbing actions would inspire some comment on this forum and who better to do it than you, woody, You made it all sound real and plausibe but the premise is,of course, ridiculous; mind, it is Madonna we're talking about so watch this space,
Good work.I'm off to newsbiscuit now

Very nice business, Woody! Very much your thing! And glad to hear you have joined NewsBiscuit. I told Jane, above, she should do the same. I look forward to seeing you there.I have not had time to post anything with them yet, but I l am sure I shall be reading contributions from you two before long.

Thanks for the PM. Cromwell is marching through my living room at the moment. Herself is getting a little weary of the invasion!

Good afternoon Jane and thanks. Hope to see you on newsbiscuit as Gerard suggested. I have called myself `splinter` for fairly obvious reasons..If you make the transition I hope you can work out the `top ten submissions` section better than this thicko!
He`ll be okay man...

Many thanks Gerard. Newsbiscuit is certainly a different experience and whilst never deserting GW, I shall be making the occasional foray over there. Haven`t heard from Chris for a while, perhaps he`s busy or on holiday.
Glad to hear her indoors is still hanging on to her sanity with all that sandal-slapping and sweat flying around in your living room...
See you on Bis..

Fertile soil for the cultivation of sarcasm - and you do it with accomplishment, style and you make it all so credible Woody.

If one can be dead-pan in text, not a glimmer of a smile plays across the Woody features. Super fun.

Good afternoon to you Oli and thanks. I must admit to liking `dry` humour. I must also admit I have rather got myself hooked over on Newsbiscuit at the moment - plus I am trying to knock together a one-act play for a theatre comp - but needless to say I will NEVER forsake GW.
