Restless
By rilLie
22 October 2006
written last night before I went to bed...

Restless night, alone in the dark

no shadow stir, no sound emit,

a man walks through a large manor, wake

in hand, a candle lit.

Thin and wary, hair specked grey

not a thump as he walked on

alone in the house, empty home

a ghost of what was done.

Lines across his old dull face

searching what was lost.

Hands shaking; candle gone

the night as cold as frost.
