the original title: To The Needy didnt quite work

When you look in the mirror, what will you see?

I’ll give you what you want just to spite you,

I’ll watch you gorge yourself on those indulgences – feed you even,

that never ending supply;

watch you grow fat.

If I could I would use my boot to wedge it all in.

It’s a sin just sitting by,

just giving in,

just letting every whim have its fifteen minutes of airspace.

But I’ve sinned before,

and if you mistake this for love, this giving, this constant more –

then look in the mirror (or the window of a department store

at night, with the streetlight giving just enough

to check your hair by) - I hereby declare your pampered days to
be

intentional,

like the loveless mother stuffing her infant

… until it bursts.

Oh yes, I know these people, and I've mentioned them before: http://www.whiteheadm.co.uk/html/healthyjosie_whiteheads_poems_10.html

They said: "It's No to Healthy Eating" this September. ha ha. I remember seeing them by Tesco's at lunchtime!
