Fear is like a prison.
By tartqueen

I was thinking about being afraid and how it holds us all back and this poem was the result.  Apologies for the shortness but i don't really write long poems.

Fear is like a prison,
It chains us all.
The tide of life is lapping at your feet.
Dive in.

If ony other poets shared your view. This deserves a mention if only for it's wonderful brevity. ( and I like the sentiments too)
They do say Brevity is the soul of wit.

Interesting idea, I really like the way it looks on the page. I enjoyed the last two lines more than the first. I felt the beginning trod a little too close to cliche for such a short piece where all the words really need to be doing twice as much work as normal. Just my opinion but I think you could probably make the first half stronger.

It seems like I'm following Elli around tonight and we seem to be on the same wavelength. Still, it is interesting.

All the best,

Phil.
