"Acceptance" Must be an ugly word
It has no place with you so it seems
"I love you" must also it appears absurd
from you whether real or in dreams

How long before the reports start to reach me
of you "loving" someone new
Let me speak to warn him first I beseech thee
of the "love", the worst you can do

Oh, words, I see they astound you
Like "children", "marriage" and "hope"
I now know how much of your "feelings" were true
Do you lie now to yourself just to cope?

"Actions!" you cry. "I need actions!"
And then as I poise to attack
You manner turns all icy retractions
My attempts at loving thrown back

Don't worry my tears they are dry now
You seem to have managed alright
I gather your feelings have vanished somehow
No doubt, blaming me quickened respite

I still "love" you, MY feelings don't vanish
overnight like your staunch admiration
But I'll never take back what you banished
What I craved once, now repulsed aberration.
