Belgian Drivers "Utter Tosspots" - Study
By givitsum
03 November 2006

A recent research study has concluded that Belgian drivers are "complete and utter tosspots". Scarborough cake shop owner Jim Sutherland, who travelled to Belgium on a one-day business trip, conducted the detailed research whilst in a taxi en-route to a meeting at a chocolate factory on the outskirts of Brussels. He told us:

"These bastards don't give a shit about any bugger else on the road but themselves. They don't indicate properly, they cut in front of you and tailgate 6 inches off yer arse-end. I'm not joking, they're a bunch of complete and utter tosspots"

Sutherland, 48, conducted various exhaustive studies on Belgians during the day, and has accumulated an impressive amount of data on our close neighbours.
"They don't speak much English and they sound a bit like the frogs" he revealed.

Sutherland ought to try driving in Taipei sometime. He could get his research over in a couple of minutes, no problem.

I particularly enjoyed the reference to Sutherland's 'various exhaustive studies' and the 'impressive amount of data' he collected.

Lovely stuff, givitsum. Plus another insulted nation crossed off for the Not News section. When you said "during the day", I thought he was going to get a grant to go back and do a nocturnal analysis... in the interests of a providing a more comprehensive and credible survey. Great. Cheers.
Good on 'im!

Why waste time and taxpayer's money on lengthy surveys - first impressions are almost always right - in fact exactly 87.5% of the time.

Nice one Chris. You can`t beat a good, in depth survey. My own conclusion about Belgians is they eat too much of their own chocolate, which makes them constipated, which in turn makes them irritable and short tempered. Thus the lorry drivers.....

happy writing

Yep, all of the above. Really enjoyed this. As for insulting countries; why don't we draw up a list. Has anyone done the Germans yet?

All the best,

Phil.

Come on you lot, the reviews aren't meant to be funnier than the story!

Great idea Phil. I think I once requested a new section be added to the site called 'Abuse' but they've not got round to it yet. This would be ideal for the insulting spree you suggested.

Cheers to all.

I do like the idea of using lorry drivers to carry out in depth and sensitive research, could save the country a fortune as I'm sure they would be happy to do it for free as all you have do do is stick a tape recorder in their cab.
Great idea and keep that politically incorrect flag flying.
cheers
