Teenager to receive ASBO in New Year Honours
By woody44

Managed to get this one on the front page top link of NewsBiscuit,(don`t think it means a lot, but it`s there) so apologize if you`ve already read it..

Fifteen year old Billy Parker from Preston is to be the first recipient of an ASBO in the Queen`s New Year Honours. His father, Jimmy `slasher` Parker, speaking from a hut in the yard of his scrap metal business, said how proud his whole family were of Billy`s achievement. `Billy has worked really hard round the estate this year, and fully deserves this award,` he growled. `I`d just like to thank the thousands of neighbours on the estate who signed the petition,` Jimmy continued. `Without them Billy wouldn`t be going down to the Palace tomorrow.`
Jimmy said most of the family would be going down to London to see Billy receive his award from Her Majesty. `Unfortunately his big brother Clem won`t be able to go on account of him `working`away` for the next ten years, but we`ll send him some nice photos.....`

Good one. They were saying on the news last night that ASBOs are a sought after item these days.

Thank you Jean. Ironic isn`t it. Perhaps if they sent them off to a good old fashioned boot camp....
I hope the book is progressing favourably.

Yep, good one - and congrats on front page of News Biscuit.

I can't say I understand ASBOs. There was a report on the radio yesterday about some kid who'd got one that said he wasn't allowed to go out shoplifting. Does that mean the rest of us are? Madness.

Perhaps you could do one on banning drivers who drive with no tax and insurance - something else that makes perfect sense.

All the best,

Phil.

Hail Woody

Yer man strikes again! Greeeaat stuff Woodmeister, and congrats on your Newsbiscuit conquering. I read summat yesterday about how having an ASBO is a must for status amongst the other pond life that inhabit the UK's street corners.

Take a bow.

Liked this a lot, Woody, and of course it's really topical. There's this thing with ASBOs at the moment where the dare is to step in and out of the exclusion zone, like they've added another dimension to the entertainment value.
Thought the Paul Merton comment was good - we're about ready to propose "Dodging the ASBO" as a sport for the next Olympics.
And, of course, my congratulations to you on Newsbiscuit.
Thanks

Thanks Phil, Chris, Jane and David for the comments. Looks like we all have pretty strong opinions when it comes to those wonderful ASBOs...

Made me laugh out loud. A clever slant on a serious issue. More please!
I`m alright again now....

Thanks Sophie. I`m afraid I got myself a bit hooked on NewsBiscuit, to the detriment of everything else..I`m on the tablets now and have started serious writing again....

all the best
