Eight random haiku
Hope I got the numbers right!
Memory is dim. . .

Haiku

Crimson sky at dawn

Who has stained the sky’s white sheets

Leaving rusted smears?

Jam-packed rush-hour train:

Fleetingly from window’s crack

Streak of lime-cool green

Fifteen-year-old’s room:

Coffee cup, damp molding towels

Tubes of Clearasil

Shredded hosta leaves

Gliding on a film of slime

One contented slug

Fat, bleached summer clouds

Puffed up in a flawless sky

Drone of distant plane

Crumbs and butter smeared

tea-bag puddles, sour milk

skillet glazed with fat

Swirling crimson, gold

Russet, scarlet, tumbling fast –

Leaf mold piled sky-high

Rain-slick paving stones

Wet brick buildings, cold grey skies

Nice hot cup of tea

Liked these Mary, especially the first three. The first is excellent, the third in stark and effective contrast.

All the best,

Phil.

A lucky bag of High Coos with a gem which came out first. What has PJ, the haikumaster to say?
