Clinging to a Ghost
By B.D.
07 November 2006
I held on tightly,
my tears filling the space
where you were suppose to be.
when the truth settled in
and I knew for sure I was clinging to a ghost,
the tears didn't come
because inside I knew you were a wisp to begin with.
a warm wind on a cold day...
you changed me and though you're not here,
you'll forever be a part of me; forever stay.
I just wish you weren't the wind...
I just wish you didn't blow away...

but if it's one thing to know,
it's that there's a season for everything.
I had the longest summer, though I lived in a mirage
then out of order the winter came
next was fall, blowing everyone away
spring's around the corner, I can tell

Evocative. Remember, the one thing which never blows away is the wind, indeed not.

"For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven"

From Ecclesiastes. At least I solved that one!

A nice read. Go on! You definitely earn a capital "I" now.

Oli.
