I Love You, Lord
By rilLie
07 November 2006
wrote this for cle and i hope it'll get chosen for our confirmation mass

I love you, Lord, I know you know

and grant that everyone else, too.

Let's spread the word of love right now

that all the world's for you.

I need you, Lord, I know you know

through the breadth of love, of life

You're always right on what to do

make me appreciate all strife.

I see you Lord, I know you know

I see you in my friends.

I see you in their words, their deeds.

These messengers you send!

I'll face you Lord, I know you know,

When the final age has come

I hope I'll say I've done great things

As I look at all deeds done.

I love you Lord, I know you know

of this I can be sure.

So teach me Lord, your ways, your style

Your love, for sin, is cure.

RiLie - Your words are so beautiful and straight from the heart. May God always bless you in all you do and write, as He is doing right now.

Hi Rilie. I liked the way you structured this, the varying repetitions and so on.

The prayer's not me, I don't know any such thing. However, I enjoyed the words.

All the best,

Phil.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

ohkey.. i'm just hyper.. I barely had any sleep.. and strangely, I get hyper when I do.. second day of school today and my back's aching like mad... had to sit in the sun for hours being the first base umpire in the last game a while ago. I think half my face is dark... the other half is pale. :grin

But on one level I envy your faith, and your verse makes as much sense as other religious texts to me.

A goodness and honesty shines through in all your work - so I find it impossible to dislike any of it. This one doesn't connect with me as much as some otherof your poems. Thats just me though, others will love it (see above!) Its all about opinions.

Best Regards
Oli :)

In this day and age, it's always nice to be reminded of the Holy Man Above, especially in such a catchy rhyme!
