BORAT ARRESTED

Borat, Barot - same difference, no?

LONDON: MONDAY] Fake Kazakhstani journalist, Borat Sagdiyev has been arrested by the metropolitan police under anti-terrorist legislation.

We understand that Borat, present alter-ego of British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, has been identified by security forces as a “prime mover” in the Al-Qaeda organisation. We also believe that Cohen is due to appear at Bow Street magistrates court on Monday.

Security spokesman Ivor Biggun gave a short statement to the gathered press at Scotland Yard:

“It appears that Mr. Cohen, alias Borat, alias Ali G, has been operating under a very effective double or even treble bluff.  On searching his Chelsea residence, we uncovered plans for a “spectacular” in London, perhaps at the Albert Hall whilst packed with people.  We also found “sketches” involving the training of Tower of London ravens to carry high explosives, and robotic corgi dogs which were to be used for attacks on Buckingham Palace.  After the sentencing of his cohort Dhiren Barot, this further triumph for British Security services underlines our determination to behead the vile serpent of international terrorism.  We would say to Mr. Cohen, who’s laughing now?”

Yes, me too. I think I'm getting slower by the day.

Enjoyed it anyway.

All the best,

Phil.

Read the clue, read the piece, didn't really get it so I moved on. Came back, read BBS's review, read the piece again, still missed the plot. Third time lucky and I'm finally with you, I think I really need to get more sleep!

Found this very amusing once I finally twigged :)

This Walter Mitty cad Barot was jailed t'other day (40 years minimum!!!) for alegedly plotting to destroy London. What struck my fevered mind was the juxtaposition, similar name, anagrammatical Borat/Barot.

The rest is just padding.

P.S. What next? 40 days for conspiracy to commit a parking offence.

There really is an American (not sure of his name) of Jewish background (his parents, I believe, were reformed, not Orthodox), who is now a fundamentalist Muslim and gung-ho Palestinian activitist.
He still speaks with a Brookyln accent, which is rather charming.
Clever

I must admit to being unsure what this was about until reading the REAL news. Good stuff, off the cuff and on the button.

Cheers
