You left me, all alone, stranded

in a sea of sharks.

Me a mere cuddlefish trying in vain,

to blend in.

They sense my fear, I must reek of it.

They come closer, and closer still,

sufficating me

with their awesome power.  My breath escapes,

Coward! Come Back!

The lights the next to go.

I have escaped!

Breath returns releunctantly. I inhale deeply.

I open my eyes, slowly.

Why are they smiling?

What manner of mischief are they plotting?

You're new here arn't ya?

You play basketball?

Thus was my first day of school.
