Anthology update
Written by admin
18 November 2006
I know, I know - it's taking forever to get the first Great Writing Anthology put together. Blame it on the day job. Still, we've now got our shortlist together and are about to contact the authors who'll be featuring in the book. Please check your email - the one you get GW mails on - and see if there's a special little message from us. If there is, get back to me as soon as you can and with any luck we'll get this thing out the door double-quick.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Thanks to all of you who've answered the call. Apologies for not entering into personal correspondence with you all, but there's quite a lot of you! In answer to the more frequently-asked questions:

1. Sorry, but there are no free copies available. Not even to us. The way Lulu.com works means that each book is individually made to order - cool eh? Of course, this also means we're not holding a stockpile of books to hand out.

2. We're still pinning down how many works will be included in the anthology. We aiming for a book around 200 pages long, which results in somewhere between 50-80 individual works. Probably.

3. We've no problem crediting people under their 'real' name rather than username, though the pedant in me would much prefer to do everyone the same way. Does anyone not want to be credited under their real name?

4. Sorry if the example of your work we chose isn't your favourite, but there are various criteria on which we selected pieces - one of which was peer selection. Rest assured that while you might be keen to kill one of your darlings, a fellow GWer spoke up in it's defence. And anyway, there's always next time...
