The English Football Association today revealed plans to prevent players from celebrating the scoring of a goal by any means other than a handshake. This is in the wake of the repercussions from last Saturday’s Premiership match in which Manchester City’s Italian striker, Bernardo Corradi, celebrated his goals by lifting the corner flag and using it to “knight” the kneeling midfielder, Joey Barton. In 1750 King George II so fell in love with the Italian countryside whilst on holiday in Tuscany that he decreed that all kings of Italy would be allowed to bestow royal rights in perpetuity. Corradi, it transpires, is a direct descendant of the last Italian king, Umberto II, and Barton is now claiming the rights due to him. These include free passage for sheep over London Bridge, a virgin serving wench, 100 flagons of ale and a suit of armour. |

Written by gerardconnolly (1186 comments posted) 21st November 2006 | If he had got the rights to that bloody awful Barton Bridge he would have never have needed to become a footballer with Stockport County Reserves. Slan! | Written by Garrulous (108 comments posted) 21st November 2006 | Very good. Would the armour have a flap at the back so he can moon everyone? Gerard. County are my local team and they are far too good to have him in the reserves. Gar. | Written by BuffaloBill (25 comments posted) 21st November 2006 | Stockport County reserves??!!! You're talking about God's own team and his wrath shall be mighty! | Written by Phil (6959 comments posted) 21st November 2006 | Save us all from all this! There's only one team - Doncaster Rovers - and we couldn't have the guy because the corner flags are fixed in to stop them getting nicked. Enjoyed. Phil. |
