For I Have Sinned
By maipenrai
08 June 2005

They tell me that I have sinned

a mortal sin at that

for loving her I will suffer

forever in my mind

madness will be my curse

all for loving her

the religion of the damned

gave me a light to see

that heaven was just a step away

from the burning fields of France

where I fought a holy war

along with Joan of Arc

Oh , how we smiled

as we watched her burn

such joy in her eyes

the purity of the flames

cleansing her sins forever

her soul forever free

but for loving her

I am condemned

to the purity of the past

no knowledge of this world

and hell awaits on earth

for those who dare to sin

against the religion of the damned
