BUBBLE
I met him, when he was barely few months old
And then we parted for twenty long months
I had completely forgotten him
Because he was never important to me
After twenty months, we met again
While I couldn’t recognize him
He did in a mere few seconds
And yearned for love from me
Following me everywhere
Wagging his tail left and right
He kept showering his love and attention
Till I gave in to be friends with him once again!

A shaggy dog story? Interesting Johnny. Perhaps this is a little direct and not developed enough. I think what I'm trying to say is: this isn't subtle enough on the emotional front. Others may disagree. Phil. |

| Second verse, line three. You need: He recognized me etc etc. You have to read it twice to get it. (Probably only I have to do that). I liked this very much, because I have a lot of time in my life for dogs. Dogs never seem to forget anything, good things or bad. Mine was attacked by a springer spaniel on a moorland path (she nearly died). It took years before we could take that path again, and never again could we walk down the road near the vet's. But she also remembered all my friends and family, and they were amazed at her memory. Now I have loving memories of her. She died in August. I do miss her so very much. Well done Johnny! |

Here goes... Written by obsidian_amethyst (46 comments posted) 22nd August 2008 |
I think people connect with this poem. Many people have expirenced a dog in their life at some stage. Also it makes me think about hard times (e.g. Homework crisis) when the dog is always there yet sometimes you do not pay attention to their needs. Apart from the obvious. OA |

You have put it so beautifully to make me understand clearly as to why people love this ppoem so much. I needed the right perspective from a young reader like you to understand for connecting with all the loving readers. Thank you once again OA for enlightening me. Johnny D |
