UNTITLED
By JohnnyD

A tribute to all the maids in the world!

UNTITLED

She slogs day and night

Putting her best to keep happiness alive

Without her, one feels a void

Even though she has no relation whatsoever

She takes care sincerely

More than anyone related

Taking all the harsh words, serving uninterrupted

With a smile in her stride

She may or may not be trustworthy

To her own, as she’s to her lady

Her life is complicated in its own terms

Yet she is so simple in her thoughts

To be always loyal with her service

Always smiling, at the beck of a call

She sells her soul

For just a few rupees a month

Looking at her smiling all the time

While she serves day and night

I often wonder without her

How difficult life would be?
