As millions mourned the fact that General Pinochet had died yesterday, without having experienced the warm feeling of burning cigarettes to his testicles and napalm to his eyeballs, suspicions arose that his passing may be connected with forthcoming legal action against him for torture, murder, embezzlement, cocaine-smuggling, corruption and obesity.
“It’s not the first time he’s had a nasty bout of death before an arrest or court appearance,” said a Chilean government spokesman. “But we still aim to have him imprisoned by the year 2200”.
The General, who spent three years at the Berlusconi School of Convenient Heart Attacks and Self-Proclaimed Immunity, is now widely believed to be living in Dulwich, and partaking of afternoon tea with his number one fan, Margaret Thatcher, whom he plans to marry next spring, or whenever his current wife’s strychnine tablets take effect.
However, the wedding, a human rights violation under Clause 6 of the European Convention, is more likely to be held next autumn, thus allowing son Mark sufficient time to make the overland journey from South Africa, and get lost in the forests of Siberia for several months.
Rumours of a secret Pinochet-Thatcher love-child, (a 1978 Daily Star headline, which inexplicably undermined its credibility as a newspaper), received some credence today, when a 28 year-old Hitler look-alike made enquires at Grantham Parish Church, and drowned the vicar in the font.

This had me laughing aloud several times. Very good. This has bile and humour. I think I over did the bile. Funny how both of us should bring the devil's daughter into this. Great piece. All the best, Phil. |

Now that's what I call a Not News post! Some great lines in there: “It’s not the first time he’s had a nasty bout of death before an arrest or court appearance,” Class! Brightened my Monday morning to such extent I almost made my own coffee. G. |

| I especially enjoyed the first paragraph -- the fact that people mourned not his death, but his death without torture. And charges of obesity in particular made me laugh because it caught me off guard. And I liked the idea of a Pinochet-Thatcher love child. You never know -- might be a really reasonable human being. Multiply negatives and you come up with positives. |

Thanks Phil, Givitsum and Witzl. Even though many doctors are describing his current condition as "satisfactory", it is galling that he went unpunished. (I'm not sure I'm willing to take that chance, as regards your genetic argument, Witzl). I posted this on a site Woody recommended, and they gave it a "headline banner" - woopydoo - but apparently you don't get any money for that, so sod 'em. |

I loved this, particularly, as Phil says, the bit with the 'devil's daughter'! You'd better watch it though, if givitsum starts to make his own coffee the world as we know it might start to collapse...Very funny. Elli |

| Thanks very much, Elli. I noticed that too. I've no idea who Givitsum really is, other than being a very funny member of the Yorkshire branch of the Malaysian Royal Family. Cheers. |
