wattle - no one special, just a dreamer who found an old pen.
(your fault, Elli)

Sports day, the dressing room, where assets are displayed without pretence.
The confidence of a large cup size walking past, head held high, that sideways glance, not to see down the front of my shapeless top. No; to witness sad eyes looking up, longing too for the cleavage to secure a pencil aloft without superglue.

A funny and slightly sad piece, wattle. The pencil test reminded me of an old joke by Victoria Wood (if you know her in Oz)She said, "Bugger the pencil I could support a small branch of W H Smiths" That brought back a few memories, I hated games and the sadistic games teachers, J |

Very funny! Girls in our school had the charming custom of reading the size of one's brassiere out loud. Very few other girls were 32A . . . If there is a hell, part of mine will consist of a girls' locker room, presided over by two of the savage, spiteful excuses for human beings that 'taught' us.

‘johniebg’, when it comes to gender I slot in the male column. This scribble is just a silly bit of fun. All Elli’s fault she made a comment about not noticing prominent breasts at school on another short, story I posted titled ‘School’ and my rather strange though processes took over. I don’t profess to know much about these things. However I’ve finally worked out that wearing breasts is not something females do to attract attention. They don’t choose the things they just grow as part of the total package. Being young and developing physically is both a curiosity and a mental challenge. Being young and developing mentally is something of and absurdity which is only discovered eventually. (I haven’t helped have I?) To ‘ellipinnock’, Leo, ‘JourneyAtNight’, Phil, and ‘kitten_princess’ thank you for reading my scribble I’m flattered by your kindness. Jane, I agree; over here it’s labeled PE (Physical Education). At the military college I attended upon leaving school it was PT (Physical Torture – although ‘they’ used the label Training). Takes a ‘special’ kind of person to make a career of chasing children around an oval, etc. From the moment you go near ‘them’ the individual becomes a spoke in an aggressive wheel. To not agree or embrace is to become the quarry. --- I truly disliked school and the military. Everyone told me I was immature and I’d regret my attitude when I grew older. I must have never matured because I’m worse now I speak out quite quickly and sharply. ‘Witzl’, I think perhaps the Jane paragraph is yours as well. I read your gem comment under ‘School’ and am still wondering how best to respond (you hooked me well). Lots of the guys also turned towards the wall the ones who didn’t lust at the bra reading ‘lesson’. I don’t normally offer stories to be read. I’m quite sure from your two latest comments that I wrote ‘Growing Pains’ with your heart in mind. ---- http://www.greatwriting.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3848&Itemid=77 --- Thank you guys you make me taller, ---- regards wattle PS: the gender thing is a curiosity that follows me. --- The image at the top is a living breathing wattle; I guess I’m a bit of a disappointment. |
