Two-Way Mirror
By roxyhope
21 December 2006
Breathy messages
I scribble on this dirted
Window to the world
Hoping that some day
Someone will see me
For exactly what I am
Every day those
Who 'should' know me
Stand before me
And see only what they choose to see
So I have become
Exactly what they need...
I am your reflection
        So beautiful,
                      So sweet,
As your reflection
I take only the steps you take in front of this damned mirror
Brief moments of action
And then back to rest I go
As you walk away
My world fades to nothingness
Because without you I do not exist
And so here I sit
Behind this thin piece of glass
Watching the world go by
And no one ever truly seeing me
For I am no one
And everyone at the same exact time....
I am your reflection
In this two-way mirror

Nice thought... You are the reflection of your mirror image. The rythm of the first half was better than that of the second, but it's still enjoyable, mainly because of the content.

You seem to write with a lot of personal emotion and I think I have read some of these sentiments in your other works.

Still powerful though.

Ms Roxy, I’m sure I’ve said similar to you before, but you do keep ‘poking’ me with your poetry. You have described what I often see/think at work, everyone works at and produces a corporate persona; It’s so difficult to identify the ones who slaughter sheep in their bathtub away from the office. --- Ha, it’s like; ‘If you want to pay me to be your friend, you will never know whether I am or not.’ ---- Thank you for a thought provoking write. ----- Regards, wattle

Slight overlap in content with your previous piece...I think I like this one better - it leaves me with a stronger image. they're certainly both dark. Enjoyed this one.

Now it's this sort of idea that gets me thinking. I actually thought this was pretty dispassionate, but all the better for it.
