One year on...

My muse for "Duet" still haunts me somewhat... can you tell?

Comments would be nice. :)

Those memories of you
are cracked and faded,
like a soulful tune,
wheezed out of a
geriatric gramophone
I used to play.

I saw them,
projected in my mind,
Technicolour gone sour.
Then, like sticky lumps
in year-old flour,

I sift you away.

Like this. Stark but kind of beautiful and all the better for being short. Very poignant.

I like this too -- the 'soulful tune wheezed out of a geriatric gramophone' and 'sticky lumps in year-old flour' especially.

Lovely imagery, lovely poem. The only thing that pulled me up was 'sticky.' Somehow didn't quite fit for me. -clotted?

Anyway - lovely.

Phil.
