Silent Legacy

Fire in Tarlac. atleast 25 people died in the flames. This was inspired by the old lady who was crying; she was shown on TV. POV of the neice she was crying for.

I remember you even held me
that night of Reming,
the night of strong winds
and I loved you for that.

I remember you even cried for me
that day of my graduation,
when I shined
and I loved you for that.

I remember you even told me
that I looked beautiful, just last Friday,
that you loved me
and I loved you for that.

And now that I'm trapped
in this room of hungry flames,
I could be really sure you're one of those
crying and shouting for me just outside.

And through the fire and burning walls
and all the soot and ash,
I just want to say,
that I love you for you.

RiLie - what a wonderful poem you have written. How very spiritual and touching. How very sad too. Your poetry is going from strength to strength. Keep writing.

This is a beautiful poem - absolutely heartrending. The thought of what the old lady was going through, and the way you portrayed it, moved me to tears.

You have a special talent, for one so young. Treasure it. :)
