some more along the same lines. i like the repetition and i think rhymes are a brilliant way to get kids interested in words - it worked for sam anyway. trouble is, he doesn't actually like jam!!

Keep the jam
           On the sandwich Sam.

There's a bear over there
           With a can of Spam.

If you're not a
           fan of bread and jam

He'll cram Spam not jam
             on your sandwich Sam

I love this sort of poem for kids. I have always made stuff up like this for my own children.

A good dad
had a bad ladder
and when it broke
he fell
into the well.

Fred was red
they thought he was dead
"Let's put him to bed"
said Ned
So they put him to bed

he jumped up

"Hey, I'm not dead,

I'm only red
let me get out of bed"
said Fred

(Fred was a spider)
