The Odds

When you feel like the only one

Is it wrong to believe

That something better

Will come from this?


Do I have a right

To think that

I have a right?


My chances are

Like everyone else’s

Fifty fifty


But it feels like

The odds are stacked

Against me

Possibly, no, no-one's chances are the same, they probably are. 
 
Sorry for the unusual post. That's how I reacted as I read.

Sorry to say this but...the odds may well be stacked against you...if you are born poor, in an oppressed minority, denied education etc. etc. 
 
So, your central premise of 50/50 is where we part company. Its much more blurred than that. 
 
Keep writing though...its a great way to work things through in your mind. Even if its 70/30 or 90/10 things can still work out for you, with effort and luck.

Not quite what I expected. 
 
Life has never been fair, that's common knowledge. But at some point everyone feels as if they are the only one that the world is against. That is what the poem is about. 
 
We also grow up believing that life is 50 50, you either win or lose. 
 
But thanks for the support in my uh hard times :grin
