How to Spot a Poet
By gutterkitty

I'm not sure this makes sense without the quote from Genevieve Antoine Dariaux which inspired it:

"Being a poet is living twice as intensely as an ordinary man; it's like having four eyes, four ears, and four hands..."

Not suggesting that poets are superior to non-poets (or that I have the foggiest who Genevieve is), just having a bit of fun :)

Poets are a rare breed,
although easily identified.
Just look for the people with three ears,
two noses, and seven eyes.

Not enough ears or noses to hang their specs on!
Don't know who GAD is/was either.

Fun piece.

I guess that doesn't make me a poet. An original idea, but I hope it's metaphorical...

I like the quote and the piece you developed from it.

A good fun read.**
Tis nonsense!

From the quote given, siamese twins would be poets.

I have been called "four eyes", I have a big nose (worth at least two!) and Weasel says that it seems like I have four hands at times...do I qualify?

Entirely metaphorical, I assure you, Fledermaus! And Oli, I don't think I'm an authority on the subject, but if you don't qualify as a poet I'm sure something will open up for you in goalkeeping! Just keep those four eyes peeled :p
