"Go home and sleep it off", he said, the stout one, with the attitude. They'd come mob-handed, in a black maria. I had been drinking deeply, at the well of cheeky water. I looked him in the eye, no understanding there, an automaton. He was scrub-faced, like a newly born piglet, all rosy and unlined, untouched by life's realities. "Arrest me", I implored, offering my upturned wrists, for his derision. Too much paperwork, I presume. Had I poured Domestos, over Father Murphy, they still wouldn't lift me, for Bleach of the Priest. Oli 24/01/07

I really enjoyed this one Oli - liked the play on words and I thought that the darker touch under the comic worked well. liked the piglet image too Elli | Written by JourneyAtNight (355 comments posted) 24th January 2007 | Yes, perhaps over the top with the word play - but for me thats what makes it so good! Must admit I was rather lost up until the last stanza, and then it came to me with a smile. What an image! Enjoyed this, E | trememdous Written by maipenrai (1006 comments posted) 25th January 2007 | | yet another trmendous piece of writing. | Written by Phil (8763 comments posted) 25th January 2007 | I didn't see this as just comic piece. A play on words yes, but with Elli here, darker undertones are lurking beneath the surface. Enjoyed, Phil. | Written by francoise (132 comments posted) 27th January 2007 | bleach of the priest.. breach of the peace? sorry I tend to be the last to figure out things like this.. still abit lost with the general meaning but can definately tune into to its sinister and dark qualities. loved reading it. A well written piece. Fran
