An out of Body Experience.
Jake should have been watching the road, he shouldn't have just run across like he didn't care if a car was coming or not. He is VERY lucky to be alive because he had an out of body experience!  This is something that no one else has experienced before without dying.  Jake is probably one of the first people to have an out of body experience and live to tell the tail.

Jake was late for a school exam so he was dashing along the pavement puffing and panting as he went. He was running so fast in fact that he wasn’t looking where he was going and ran into an old woman.
"Oh I’m so sorry!" He said.  As the elderly woman fell hard onto the pavement, she angrily turned over and sat up to face Jake.
"You young rabble, have you no respect for the elderly?  Dashing along the road like that and knocking the breath out of an old lady!"
"I really am sorry. I'm late for a school exam you see, it’s really important that I get to school in a hurry." He glanced quickly at his watch he was five minuets late all ready! He hurriedly helped the old lady up and started running again shouting "SORRY!" As he went.


Jake came to a busy road and stopped. He knew he should be careful on this particular road because some girl that lived just across the road from him was killed crossing it! He looked at his watch and gasped with shock he was now fifth teen minuets late for his exam!!
"Oh my god, I’m fifth teen minuets late!  I’m just going to have to make a run for it across this road, stuff the cars!" So Jake ran across the road not looking or caring if a car was coming.  He was so desperate to get to school that his mind was more with that then on the dangers of the road.  Unfortunately a car was coming and it was speeding down the road with music playing inside it so loud it was making the car shake! An eighteen year old boy was at the wheel, smoking with one hand and driving stupidly with the other not really taking much notice on what he was doing.  So when Jake ran out not looking the eighteen year old almost jumped out of his skin.  All Jake heard were a squeal of brakes and then a sharp pain hitting him hard on the left side of his body.


Everything went dark for awhile as though Jake had just fallen down a black hole, then slowly he opened his eyes again. He felt so strange, he just didn't feel himself at all, and it just felt like he was in some kind of dream world with no real sense of what was going on.  He couldn't feel any part of his body, it was like his arms, legs, feet and chest just weren’t there.  He was not lying on the floor like he was expecting to find himself; in fact he was standing up.  He looked down at his feet, he was still wearing his school uniform but the ground beneath his feet also seemed to seast to exist. He just felt like he was a flouting bit of dust with no real meaning or life.  He couldn’t even think properly, he just floated in one place staring off into nothingness.
"Oh my god!" He then heard someone say. "There's been an accident!"
"Phone 999 quickly!" Another person yelled. Jake then suddenly realised he was standing or flouting on the road he had just ran across, but....what had happened? Jake’s mind finally kicked into action because he found himself thinking 'Where am I… What on earth happened?'  
Suddenly, the eighteen year old that had knocked him over was standing right next to him; he didn’t seem to notice Jake standing all confused where he was.
"Is he dead?”  Cried the eighteen year old.  “Oh god, please don’t tell me that I’ve killed this boy!”
"I don’t know can't feel a pulse, It doesn't look good!" Said a man.
"Oh god, what have I done?" Sobbed the teenager.
"What!" Jake found himself yelling, but no-one heard him.  It was as if Jake was no longer a human being but a feather just blowing in the wind.  He looked down on the ground where some people were bending over something.  Jake could not see what it was and he couldn’t brush anyone aside to get a better look. Then a lady that was blocking his view stood up and revelled...HIM! He saw his own body lying on the ground with his arms and legs everywhere from being hit so hard by that car.  He saw the blood coming out of his ears and stared at the white dead look on his face.  His body still had its eyes open so he saw the wide, shocked look in his own two eyes!  All flouting Jake could do was stand there in horror and stare harder at himself lying motionless on the floor.

The ambulance finally arrived and everyone was crying, shaking and shouting at each other.  It was awful to watch a terrible event, especially as it involved himself!  Jake turned away as they began to bundle his body into the ambulance. "Please make this stop!" He shouted in terrier and shut his eyes whishing he could just block it all out.

"My poor baby Jake." Was the next thing he heard.
"He'll be alright, the doctors have said so."  Comforted another voice. Jake slowly opened his eyes again and he found himself in a hospital bed with his mum and dad sitting right by him. "Jake?"
"Mum?"
"You're alright!  Oh thank god that you've made a recovery!  I’m honestly so glad to see you awake."
"What happened, where am I?" Asked Jake dazed with confusion.
"In hospital son, you got knocked down by a car and we nearly lost you but luckily you pulled through." His dad said with a smile.
"But....I think I was dead! It was terrifying, I've GOT to tell you this it is so unbelievable!"  So Jake told them everything about what he had experienced.  After he had finished his parents didn't say anything for a moment, then his mum just laughed and said.
