The ground is littered with the fallen. It was the Skull Splitter that felled me, now I lie in a confusion of broken men, my limbs are gone, release me sweet oblivion! I see the buckled body of my clansman, but a few feet away, yet beyond my reach. It was the Broadsword that took his legs, The Warhammer mashed his brains. There are a few warriors yet standing. Great ginger-bearded giants, wailing, drinking in the scene of the bloodbath. Wry smiles, they have seen it all before. This day will be long remembered. The Paisley Traditional Ale Festival, Fifth of March Nineteen-ninety four, Paisley Town Hall, Renfrewshire. Oli 01/02/07)
