RANT

I have my nice white wristband

so do all my friends

we wave our arms up and down

to show the world we care

I love my little starvation

fashion accessory

it shows the world i care

and talking about bands

I see they are raising the dead

digging them up from the graves

of lost and faded rockers

well, I suppose thats what mates are for

but surely it would be better to leave the dead

at peace in the grave

and it is easier on the ear

and I hear strange tales from Africa

very strange indeed of

rock concerts in Kenya

in aid of the two million old folk

and countless children

living below the poverty line

in the dear old UK

In Tanzania a right old shindig is planned

to raise some cash for those slum kids in

Englands green and pleasent land

a Charity Game in Joburg

an all star game I hear

Africa v Asia

proceeds to Centrepoint for those

countless homeless folk

and over in Lagos, not to be outdone

there holding runs and marathons to help

MDM with their clinics in the London East End

it seems the poor old NHS

just cannot cope with the influx of homeless

refugees

and they are selling wristbands like hotcakes

in Africa it seems, black is the colour

to show support for the poor in the good old UK

Phew, a powerful piece of poetry. The UK are crying out for homeless shelters, I know, as I work to help the needy and there are people dying on our own streets. Your poem was strong, powerful and you made some excellent points too. Well done. Thanks for the read.

thanks for your comments, wonder when saint bob and his mates are going to stage a concert for the homeless, there again a middle aged drunk with booze probs is not as sexy as some skeletal kid in africa, so he will most likely not bother, not enough photo opportunitys
